Look What I Found on My Porch Today

My gift basket from Celestial Seasonings arrived today! I won it because my question was chosen for a future webcast Q&A with Doreen Orion. You can read more about the contest here.

The gift basket is chock full of goodies and an autographed copy of Ms. Orion's book QUEEN OF THE ROAD! I'm just thrilled since I loved the book (here's my review!) And since I love tea too, it's just the perfect treat for me!

Thank you so much, Doreen Orion and Celestial Seasonings! You really made my day.

Ooooh Julie....what a stash of goodies you got. Thanks for listing them! I'm just a little nosy, but I love tea, LOL! Have you tried the Madagascar Vanilla Red before? I hope that you like it, it's my fave! Add some sugar or sweetener and some milk and it's delicious, decaf also. It's considered a Rooibus tea or bush tea. If you've read and of Alexander McCall Smith No. 1 Ladies detective novels, they drink lots of bush tea! So there is a reading link here!

Congrats, Julie and Heather. I'm a tea fan too. Bonnie, I've never heard of bush tea!

Hi Julie,

So glad you won since you wrote that lovely review of my book! Just to clear up, this contest was totally Celestial Seasonings' idea. They have been WONDERFUL about promoting QUEEN OF THE ROAD. The contest you won was part of their Adventure At Every Turn Book Club promotion. They not only chose my book as their summer pick, but did so very much more. I blogged (www.QueenOfTheRoadTheBook.com/blog) about my day with the company - including a reading/signing/royal schtik, as well as tour of our bus and their factory! And, BTW - all the employees we met are very happy working there. I begged them to hire me as the company shrink!

For anyone still yearning to win a Celestial gift basket, I'm currently running a sweepstakes on my website - www.QueenOfTheRoadTheBook.com and Celestial Seasonings donated one of the prizes - another HUGE gift basket. So, come on over and enter!

And, thanks again, Julie!

I'm so jealous. That's such an awesome prize!

I have some good friends that are South African and introduced me to red tea! It's supposed to be the best for you!

Congratulations Julie - I love that it's packaged in a basket, not simply all the goodies in a shipping box; it's beautiful!

Doreen, thanks for telling us about the opportunity at your site.
